Awake

Eyes + Words

Written by Jacob Ibrag

You’ll see it for yourself. The end of this place.

It has been said that the crawlers of the root were never

meant to set foot on a plane like this, and yet here we are. And

I have been to the edge. Don’t you remember the stories? Monsters

and blood dancers preying on those who fell in. I never fell, just took a

peak. And guess who looked up as my attention met its depths? It

was them, the mythos spewers and the keepers of our chains.

They know we’re coming, and they’ll try to sing us

to sleep. Deaf ears. En masse, awake.
